Hit a speed bump in the parking lot yesterday and the truck dropped out of gear. The engine wound up a few hundred RPM without the load and then dropped back into gear with a jerk. Should mention that it is a stack 47RE with 170k. What can cause this?

Wouldn't think so, reads ok in the stick and I just got back from Colorado and running around in the mountains without any slipping.

 

Ok, looks like it is time for a new tranny . Going with Dave or DTT, the question is do i buy a built unit or have my local shop rebuild with their kit/tc? Looks like a $1,500 diffderence.
