Tranfer Pump replacement
In mid June I had a problem – loss of power climbing hills, running sluggish (but no warning lights). Discussed with mech. and thought it might be water in fuel. Changed fuel filter & ran a couple quarts of fuel additive in next few tanks. Seemed to take care of the problem. It happened again, repeated fuel additive – it stopped.
Then it happened again last week, and I noticed fuel not being pumped when ignition turned on. Took it to dealer, they said the fuel transfer pump was bad, and replaced it. They told me that that the injector pump will probably go soon?
Has anyone experienced or heard of this problem?
Also, anyone know of a reputable cummins/diesel mech. around Fredericksburg, VA??
2000 2500, quad cab, 99k miles, all original - no modifications.

take it back to the dealer they told you the injection pump will go out, have it replaced before your warranty is up. otherwise youll be paying 2k out of your pocket. Or at least get it on paper they will replace it if it goes out in the near future.
