tps-tricks for changing?
My brother has an o1 ctd w/6 speed, and it eats throttle position sensors like candy (8-9 per year). What is causing them to fail? Are they hard to change? Can they be obtained anywhere other than Dodge dealers? Can they be modified or altered? Can anything replace it? Help is appreciated.

jbone, 2 days and no response!!!
When you say tps I assume you mean throttle position sensor. I have an 01 as well and technicly the tps is called an apps or accelerator pedal position sensor on this model. I know what they cost up here in Canada and at 8 to 9 per year that would be over $5000! I just replaced mine before Christmas.
The apps replacement is fairly simple. This unit is available only from Dodge, not a Cummins part.
Check here on DTR, there is a thread concerning a cheap replacement worked out by some contributers to TDR. On TDR the thread is referred to as the "Anatomy of an APPS". I believe rweiss is the poster here.
