Throttle Position

I have a 2002 Dodge 2500, I have been having trouble with the throttle. I can be driving down the road, and go to pass a car push on the throttle and have nothing. Also happens if I go down a hill, let off the throttle and when I go to push the throttle to go up the other side I will have nothing. About 3-4 months ago it was doing the same thing and then 1 day it would not start, found the lift pump on the block was bad. It was replaced and ran fine, however it still has the throttle problem. Starts fine and runs great when throttle is working. The only codes I found were the turbo boost, and something about injector timing I think ps-216. Any ideas?

Id hate to say it, but sounds like your vp44 may be on its way out, since the lift pump was bad, I am assuming the code is injection pump timing failure, which means the vp44 has gone south, hopefully that is not the case, I know my vp44 is wounded and I am not looking forward to having to replace it in the future, maybe someone else will chime in

Soryy about your problems. P0216 usually means the injector pump is toast. If this is the case, you need to replace it before you get stranded.

This is probably another classic case of why you need gages with a Cummins diesel. Injector pumps come and go for no apparent reason, but general consensus says that if you lose fuel pressure for very long, you can kiss the VP$$ good-"buy".
