if its before the turbo then 1500 for a short burst of maybe 5-10 seconds but no more

and the lower end...if i let mine idle for 5 minutes or more to cool down it will go to the high 200's-300

I am not sure about lower limits but i would try not to go over 1250 or so but you may not have enough done to get it that hot.

This has been discussed at length many times before......here is the latest discussion.......IMO, you really should have the probe pre turbo......the variation in egt post turbo is significant and unaccepatable to me. Check this pre and post turbo egt thread

I'm running PRE-TURBO setup...

My truck is stock. No fuel box. To get my PYRO to 1250*F you got to drive it like you stole it. So that means that your max temp POST TURBO would be about 750-800*F (-500*F from 1250*F)

Note: all numbers from here are PRE TURBO...
I think for you boys that are running a stock 24 vavle engine I would say that max temp will be about 1250*F... It the winter I would try and keep the temp above 350*F if your going to idle for long periods. As for cooling down I try and get mine under 300*F before shutdown. I've seen it rise back up as high as 450*F after shutdown if you try to shutdown about 350*F...

Just my 2 cents on the subject...

well depending on if you have the hx or the hy, numbers can vary...at idle, there is no change. My buddies truck (identical setup, except post turbo and mods) idles at 250-300, as does mine. Cruising 70 mph at 6 psi i see 700*, he sees 600*. But all out run at 32 psi, he never climbs above 700* and i can peg 1200*. So for crusing and idling there isnt much difference. The big difference is when the turbo is actually using alot of the heat energy in the exhuast.
