Synchromesh in a NV4500?
Sorry I didnt get it the first time. I also thought about changing the oil in my 5spd but after looking in to it I found that the OEM stuff is expensive but really good. It's supposed to run cooler than other tested oils and the main reason it was choosen was because the NV4500 has carbon fiber synchro's which can take a beating with other oils. Then I checked the oil in mine and it was still honey colored. I also hear you can get the same stuff from GM for less money. Didnt check though.
It may be too thin for the NV4500. The OEM fill is Castrol Syntorq LT, which is a 75W-85 GL-4 transmission gear lube. GL-4 lubes contain 1/2 the sulfur and phosphorus content of the more common GL-5 gear lubes for differentials. This allows proper function of the synchros, and is easier on the yellow metals in transmissions.
A 50/50 mix of Redline's synthetic MTL/MT-90 transmission lube at $7-$8 a quart is an alternative to the expensive OEM fluid.
