Studders when leaving from a dead stop.

When you push the pedal from a stop, it starts to go, then kind of hesitates. It sort of feels like it slips out of gear but, it is a pretty mild jerk and the truck drives great besides that.
Any ideas?
Should I wait for it to get worse?

It's actually something I might buy.
It's an auto trans and everything else is stock.(2wd)
This will be my first diesel. I've only driven a few so it's hard for me to diagnos or describe better just from taking it for a spin.
Not sure if the trans has had a rebuild and there is 180k on the truck.
Everything else is in great condition.
Hope this helps.
Thanks,
-B
