was driving along today around town and was going thru a playground zone when i had a weird throttle issue happen. just before the zone ended i let off the throttle (going slightly downhill) but the rpm's stayed put. i let off entirely and no change, i pushed the pedal to the floor and no change - the rpm's just stayed out at whatever they were while traveling thru the playground zone. i tried braking and no change for a few seconds, then it just kicked back down to regular idle and was fine since then.

also, i came off a higher speed road, so the cruise was on, but it was disengaged.

this is the first time this has happened. has anyone else ever had a similar issue or know what may be going on?

truck is as you read it in the sig with 174, 000 km or 108, 000 miles.

 

Go get the codes read, as it sounds like a APPS issue. Apps is the throttle position sensor.

 

no codes and no idiot lights present . . .

 

One time mine acted very wierd. I thought the vp going out. Turned out to be the battery cables were corroded and loose.
Check all the simple things first.
