I do not know about the stock unit as they are crap.
Go with the after market one with the suport and bearing that come out the bottom

I installed an AGR & can't really say that it's a great improvement. I'd probably go with cheap reman & see how it holds up with a steering brace & Thuren track bar. The Thuren & DSS are top notch. I've gotten good at swapping the box as I've had it out twice. If you decide on an aftermarket box, get it from a jobber & not the manufacturer. It's cheaper. Also expect several weeks wait for the box to be built.
PSC makes the best boxes right now. Looking at about $450 or so for a box. Make sure your steering shaft is tight, and that all your linkage is tight as well. My shaft is in its way out, and replacing that would surely tighten up my steering.
