Hello All,

I was on a road trip with my wife and son yesterday and we stopped at a chip-stand for lunch.

The truck had been shut-down for 20-30 minutes before we decided to leave. When I cranked it over it started... rev'd up to about 2500 rpm then died completely.

I waited a few seconds and tried again... this time is started and settled into a normal idle.

Truck is stock except for XZT+

I'd really like to know if this is an early sign of another problem.

Any ideas?

 

Sounds like to me you got a shot of air in the system from somewhere that finally worked its way out. I'd check all the fittings and clamps for a loose one if it happens again.

Check your codes and see if you have code P1691.

 

I had this same problem happen to me today. All my truck has on it is the XZT+. Went to the store, went inside for about 30 min. When I came out to start the truck it reved to about 2500 rpm and then died. It wouldn't start right away. I turned my box off and sat for a couple seconds and it started right up and runs fine. I tried the box in off, timming, and performance and it worked fine. No other issues. I did check my codes right away when it died and I got p0500, p1691, and the usual p1693. Whats was the problem?
