99 -2500 will crank and start then die
99 -2500 will crank and start then die
Only on a Monday will this happen!
Went out this morning to start the truck, she fired up first time as always, then after five to ten seconds the idle speed slowed up and stalled. It would not fire back up. Checked for air intake blockages, fuel at filter/pump. Seems OK. Crank again. Nothing. Did just do the "key" trick on/off, on/off and it started, ran lil' rough then stalled.
Lifter pump? I hope to hell it's not the injector pump, pay days a looong way away. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like either the lift pump or the filter. I've removed the intank strainers, and installed a 3/8" draw straw, only to find the water separator, filter, on the FASS clogged up. Check your filter first, then the pump for good flow. The good thing about it is that I now know my fuel delivery system, inside/out.
My fuel pressure would be around 13/14 psi when first cranked and slowly go to Zero while idling, then shut off.
Let us know what you find out.

Your 99 will not do the key trick. I would take it to any parts store and get the codes read before I removed the FF. Your LP will not throw a code but the VP should, most not all do.
Reason I stress the codes, if and when you get it started the VP will suck the fuel and get you running, bad on the VP but it's running. Once you break the seal from the filter canister and you have a dead LP your waiting for parts (LP) to get it running the VP will not prime the system.
Good luck and give us codes if you can.
