Well, yes, it's a little tough to decide- how much do you take for consulting Dr. Evil ;D I'm prepared to pay about 60 minutes per hour before tax

Re: oil filters
I would like to know if anyone has information on Luberfiner oil filters. They make one to fit these engines.
Also RE: the statment about Ford and Cummins, you should check this site.http://www.cummins.com/na/pages/en/p...0880C4A8F00000
It seems we have another urban legend on our hands

oil filters
Actually what I ment was that they make a spin on filter for these engines. I was wondering if any one had seen any preformance tests on those filters. the filter # is LPF780.

Senerio-1 You have an aftermarket oil filter on your rig and it has a problem and does sever damage to your engine. Do you think DC or cummins will take the responsibility and make the repairs for you? So your choice is to go after the oil filer manufacture. For one, you will be without your truck for a long long time. And two I bet you will need an attorney to try to convince the filter manufacture it was the filter that caused the problem and not the motor that caused the filter to fail.
Senerio-2 You pay a few cents more for the Mopar or Fleetgaurd filter. Have a filter problem and does motor damage. DC has no choice to make the repairs no ifs and or buts. It was there part that failed and caused damage.
My money is on Mopar or fleetgaurd filters. Why try to save a buck when it could cost you several thousands of dollars.
Only my opinion.
