If you bump start the engine and stick your head under the hood and dont hear anything at all does that mean the lift pump is dead?

 

I can hear mine from inside the cab. Put a gage on it and find out for sure, but it sounds like it's gone..

 

After you bump the starter, stick your head under the hood and listen for it......it should be very audible.........As Crobtex said, I have no problem hearing mine in the cab without the engine running......before you turf the pump, just double check to make sure it is getting power.....it probably is......most likely the LP is pooched.
