Showing code P 1693 ??
Need a little help please
I have just installed an Edge EZ, did all of the hook up's except the power unit (or module) and started it up, then I turned it off and hooked up the unit but then I noticed the check engine light was on. Truck drives great, I think all I need is too clear the code, any Ideas guys
Thank you
Ross

The 1693 is the code telling you there is or was a code.
More than likely related to the MAP sensor which the computer thought was bad when the EZ wasn't powering it.
If you want to find out what the real code is, you will need a scanner,
or even the Dodge DRB Scantool at the Dealership to find out what it was.
Most likely, you'll also need the same scanner to clear the 1693 and whatever the hidden code is.

This code appears if you start the truck without the unit connected it means something about a low circuit. I usually screw around and trip it and have to remove it. It does not effect anything! In fact it has been on sice I triped it several months ago. I would ignore it but since your buddy has the tool to remove it, go for it!
