p-ecu 1693 code?
Any one know what this code is? I have checked the tech section on this site and this code is not listed. I pulled this code after finding a huge oil leak ( see recent post " major oil leak" ) and thought this might shed some light on my problem. Thanks for any info you can give me on this.

P1693 ~ A fault has been generated in the companion engine control module. (DRB SCAN TOOL DISPLAY, "DTC Detected in Companion Module")
p1693 ~ A "companion DTC" was set in both the ECM and PCM. (DRB SCAN TOOL DISPLAY, " DTC Detected in PCM/ECM or DTC Detected in the ECM".)

It's a companion code.
When a code is thrown in the PCM, the P1693 is thrown in the ECM to tell you there is a code present in the PCM.
Also the other way around.
If it is the only code you found, the other code most likely was cleared when the problem corrected itself.
You might try getting the codes scanned with a real DRB tool, not just the key on-off-on-off-on method.
Just in case it is a code that doesn't show up with that method.
Most auto part stores (Autozone for sure) will read the codes for free.
