I drove a 2001 Ram 3500 5 Speed with 56k on it today and it was a very nice truck, but when I ran the codes it showed P PCU 1693 and P ECU 234, is that VP44 Death, Turbo Death or nothing to worry about? I am really considering the truck but dont want to get into a mess. Any help would be appreciated.

po234 is turbo boost limit exceeded,nothing to worry about.,... 1693 is"DTC detected in companion module", in most cases you will have to use a scanner to pull the code from the ECM, good luck

 

I have noticed on some other post that 234 seems to come along the same time that people lose the VP44. I plan to upgrade the fuel system if I get the truck, but would like a little cushion before I have to replace the VP44. If I get the truck I am planning the Vulcan along with a pusher pump or FASS system, but dont want to end up with a truck puking a IP and Turbo the week I get it. Anything else I can check before jumping in?
