Short Blocks?

Anyone know where to get a good deal on a short block? I got a '99 with a cracked "53" (big surprise). I have been able to locate a place for a good short block though. I actually don't care if it's a bare block with now internals. Anyone know what exactly the difference between 12V and 24V is block wise? I know a sensor hole or two and the cam, but what are the coolant passages like?

Thanks, I scraped the idea of this truck. It's parts, found more wrong with it than it's worth.
