Mine always went 1st, 2nd, 3rd, TC lockup, then OD. That's probably what you feel.

Great! Thanks Guys, its how i assumed it shifted. It just seems like my trans is going Lockup, OD (well it feels like it shifts again) and then thats it. No OD Lockup. Im turning about 2200rpm @ 55mph. Ive installed a manual Torque Conv Lockup switch but nothing happened. swapped trans relay with horn relay and checked it, works correctly. Is there a way i can install a manual OD Lockup Switch? Thanks in Advanced

If you do a search you can find the right wire to ground for an OD lockup. It's one of the PCM wires on the passenger side firewall. You splice into it (not cut it entirely) and set a switch to ground. When it is grounded you will lock up the TC. It may only work in 3rd and OD unless you have a built tranny. Technically, I believe the tranny goes 1, 2, 3, lockup, unlock, OD, lockup....

Yup i did the research today and installed the OD switch and no such luck. i did check my APPS voltage (timbo01 APPS) and it was .605v. as of right now the trans is going 1..2..3..lockup..unlock...OD...nothing. no lockup in OD. i am gonna do some more electrical checking and eliminating to make sure it isnt an electrical problem and more of a mechanical issue. from the sounds of it thats probably the issue (mechanical).

If im having no Lockup in OD then is that a torque converter issue... or more of a OD unit, as in the clutches being burnt up. If that is the issue could i drop it off the back of the trans and have it rebuilt or buy a new one.. where could i buy a new one? Thanks Mike

How many RPMs do you drop on the last ( OD ) shift? When my TC went, that was about the RPMs she turned, I knew it was the TC because OD shift doesn't drop the RPMs radically like TC did.

it drops about 200 rpms. but i took it to a guy that has rebuilt dodge trans for a few years. he told me it was locking in 3rd and then unlocking but it wasnt going into OD. so im a bit confused. he thinks its an electrical issue and not so much mechanical, because of limp mode, cause it doesnt down shift out of 3rtd. i told him id bring it back to him and have him work on it, as long as i work on it with him as well, i want this issue resolved and i dont want to drop 3-4 grand on a new trans. im some what mechanically inclined but auto trans are a new territory for me and this will be a good learning experience.
