Scan Guage II

Does anyone know what the MAP pressure should be that the Scan Guage reads? Mine is reading 30/35 psi. Is this too much or too little.
I like the Scan Guage, but the instruction booklet leaves something to be desired. At least by me.

The scan Gauge will only tell you what the vehicle computer see's. What it is most likely reading is atmospheric pressure plus boost pressure which would equal around 35 at sea level

So, I am to think that the Scan Guage MAP reading minus 14.7 would be an approximation of the turbo boost pressure?
Anybody else have any info they want to share about using the Scan Guage?

What does it show for a MAP reading with the key on but engine off? If it is showing atmospheric then you have your answer. I will be putting my Snap-On scanner on mine tomorrow to check for codes and I will see what the MAP reads.

I have to subtract 14.7 from my reading to be accurate. There may be some better alternative to the scan gauge. some obdII blue tooth reader to your Iphone or droid and cheaper and probably many others; Ed

They ALL read the computer on the vehicle and will give the same info. You can't just automatically say total map minus 14.7 is my boost because that atmospheric pressure changes with altitude and even with weather.
