Return line from VP44 leaking
Return line from VP44 leaking
My return line from the VP44 to the return line tee at the back of the head has a leak where the tubing meets the banjo fitting (crack). I want to replace it with something other than the stock setup so I can get my truck back on the road. But I see that this bolt has a preasure relief in it. Can I remove this feature with out complications down the road? If so does anyone know the thread size of this banjo bolt so I can get a fitting? Thanks
I am unsure of the component you are having issues with, but I'll give it a shot.
The VP44 has an overflow valve. This is preset to hold some pressure in the pump. So, you would have to have a means of regulating this to remain "factory". The easiest thing is to use a banjo/ barbed fitting to -6 line and then back to the rear of the head. Then that fitting can be pulled and replaced with a 12mmx1.5 adapter and a -6JIC swivel 90* to -6 barbed. Then both hoses back to a "T" or "Y" and adapt to the factory dorman fitting or get more creative from there.
I don't know if that helps. If you wanna pick my brain (small)
, drop me a line.

Well I found the the local dealer had the fuel line in stock for a reasonable 85.00 LOL so I went to the cummins dealer and got the tube, check valve and o-rings for about the same price. I was on my way home to get the truck back together when my wife called and said her water broke. I am at the hospital waiting for my baby while my other baby is broke down in the driveway
