Remove cats or straight pipe?
I got mine straight piped 4 inches comin out of 6 inch tip and it sounds great and turns lots of heads. Some guys with hemis pull up next to me and think there exhaust is so loud till i rev mine up..... they then stop right after that and roll there dang windows up! Its all about what ure lookin for tho. I love loud exhausts and def dont mind cab drone and my turbo whistling at 65-70. Who needs a radio? You might wanna stick with an aftermarket exhaust kit tho if u want a quiet exhaust. They have a some rumble but arent too loud.
i agree i like loud exhausts and i always find myself turning the radio down to hear the turbo. i have mine staright piped from the stock 3'' to a 4" turnout right in front of the r/r wheel. its crazy loud! my dad however has a QC dually and the muffler fell off so he installed a piece of 4" pipe in place of the muffler. he left the resonator on and the exhaust still came out the tailpipe. it was still loud but didn't drone at all. now he took the tailpipe off and replaced the 4'' piece of pipe with a heavy duty truck muffler from Fleet Pride that elbows down right off the outlet. for a muffler its got a great tone and you get a great turbo sound through it. he has a six speed in his and it sounds great shifting gears.
I have a buddy of mine who did pretty much the same thing youre old man did. It sounds pretty darn good. He has a five speed tho. When he shifts and activates his clutch his wastegate screams.
I love my truck but i can def see myself gettingva six speed somewhere down the road. I miss shiftin gears. Take care bud
