Reducing "crackle" in engine noise

Howdy!

I know the subject of engine racket has been discussed here more than once, but I have a specific question. Is there anything that can be done specifically to reduce the "crackle" sound in the engine noise? I really don't have a problem with the low frequency sounds coming from under my hood, even if they're louder than on a 2003, but it wouldn't bother me if that clanking crackle were gone. I did attach a foam pad to the underside of my oil pan and noticed a slight reduction in racket. What else might I try? I wonder if larger injectors would make that worse or better?

Thanks for any comments!

Tad

Get this stuff called brown bread from www.b-quiet.com and do your whole cab and under the hood that will really fix you up.

Do I want to put this under the hood liner or in place of the hood liner?
