Rear wheel cylinder upgrade

Ok its time to do my rear brakes with new drums an shoes i,m going to use Rabestos parts . I've heard about useing the 30mm GM 1 ton clyinders is this just a remove an replace install no mods ? An another question does it shorten the shoe life on the rear ? The truck has 150 K on it an I believe this
is the origanal shoes ? I,ve got a Napa P/N 37337 does anyone know if this is
a good number or do I need too get a different part ? This truck is a 01 2500
5.9 3.50" shoes . Is it a noticeable improvement in stopping power ?

Thanks GEO

hi
i used the p n wheel cyl in my signature . raybestos.
the wheel cyl are a bolt on upgrade .
make sure your adajusters are in proper working order also .
if you have the rear proportionng valve make sure it also is working properly and the link to axel is connected with good ball studs .
some adjustment here may be needed also .
i love the way mine stops now and no premature brake wear .

Ditto. I did this on the 01 that I had, and loved it. Not much more wear on rear shoes, but saves a lot on the front pads. Just make sure adjuster are working freely, and the proportioning valve is working properly. You will notice a slight braking improvement when empty, but will definitely notice a big improvement when loaded.
