rear differential seal reusable?

I am considering putting Amsoil in the rear differential on my 02 2500. I think I saw somewhere that to change it you have to take the cover off, and that the seal is reusable. Is this correct?

Also, how much fluid does it take?

I will probably also do the transmission, how much does it take?

Thanks,
Bryan

There shouldn't be a seal on there.

Our diffs use RTV sealant.

Straight from Amsoil.com since your sig doesn't specify;
Differential, 2WD with Dana 60 Rear..........6.3 pints
Differential, 2WD with Dana 70 Rear..........7.0 pints
Differential, 2WD with Dana 80 Rear..........6.8 pints[6]
Differential, 4WD with Dana 60 Rear..........7.2 pints
Differential, 4WD with Dana 70 Rear..........7.6 pints
Differential, 4WD with Dana 80 Rear..........10.0 pints

Think this is your 5 speed;
Manual Transmission, NV4500..........8.0 pints
