Thinking APPS?
I need some help from the APPS guru's!
I've been suspect of my APPS, but not positive yet. The dealer has supposedly checked it, but I guess all they can really check is idle position, and WOT position. My trouble seems to be under slight acceleration and load, around the 1500RPM range.
I get a slight studder, sometimes worse than other times. I can only feel it when I've got a load behind the truck. It might be there when I'm empty, but can't be sure if it's doing it, or if it's just pavement. When it does start doing it, I can floor it, and it SEEMS to go away, MOST of the time.
I've re-set it, the lift pump is fine, etc, etc. I guess my question is, do these symptems lead anyone else down the same path?
One more thing, it seems to be worse in the colder months. I fought with this problem since winter of 2002/2003. When I'd finally deducted it was the chip, and got it replaced, it was April, and everything seemed fine. Come October of 2003, weather got colder, problem came back, replaced chip again, and had the same problem. Now, spring is here, and the problem seems to have gotten a lot better.
What's up?????

I had a strange problem such as yours and it turned out to be my boost fooler on my BD PnP. I would start off by rmoving the box, cleaning boost sensor, checking the connection on the CPS, and possibly cleaning the APPS sensor. Some say it cant be cleaned but I read where some guys have taken it off and cleaned it with some type of electrical contact cleaner. The sensor is rather easy to take off. I was also having some unknown diagnosable problem with my CPS until it went out completely. Once my tach went out and idle screwed up, I knew it was the CPS.
