Is there a reusable air filter that meets warranty specs?

 

I don't know about warranty specs, but stay away from oiled gauze (like a K&N). I have seen many tests where they let way too much dirty in. A reusable like the Uni foam filters Scotty uses are supposed to filter very well, and are cleanable.

 

Check this link out for more info. I have a Volant kit (similar to the AFE) and have had zero problems. I did have a K&N in my 2000 and had zero problems and the guy who has it now has had zero problems. As for warranty, it depends on the individual dealer. Some are cool with it...some not . That was one of the tests I was reading. I didn't realize how much dirt the Uni let through. Hmmm....

 

that test is not on a dual layer filter in a Dodge with a Cummins. Its also the most well used scare tactic on the net by sellers of the other filters.

I will say this...one more time...

Oil analysis' of trucks using the UNI two stage filter have NEVER netted over 7PPM of silicon...DIRT. Well within the standard limits. Some of these trucks had well over 20,000 miles on the oil that was tested and of course some of my customers want to make sure it continues to filter well enough to fall into that safe category and will test every oil change.


When Fleetguard or AC Delco or MOPAR says use only their filters, its not just because of how well they filter its also about more sales, repeat sales of the product that is owned under the same umbrella as Cummins or GM or...

My dealer told me that AFE will not void the warrenty, they even sold me one.
