This might help. I know our canisters are a little different from the '99's but it would be my "guess". https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...threadid=49178

Are you connecting a FP gauge?? Might want to consider the downstream banjo on the top (closest to the VP). I had a nice high flow ported to 1/8" NPT on the top to replace my stocker when I installed my gauge.

With the gauge installed, I confirmed the LP was dead and had it changed out by a Cummins shop. Ding dong took off the fuel lines to move the canister and ended up twisting off my high flow on reinstall.

Long one short, we drilled out a standard banjo and tapped it to 1/8 NPT. Works fine.

Thank you, I was only wondering becuase the fitting and line I am installing are used so I am going to plug in pre-filter for a week or two just in case there are some nasties inside the old plumbing. I will probably change it to post filter later. I just wanted a quick check. Will I still get an accurate reading? I change filter every 5,000. I don't see why not. Thank you far the quick response Taz.

On the 98.5 use the one more towards the front of the truck, and nearer to the center of the canister top. That should be post pressure.

Thanks guys. I hooked it up thursday and made my three hour drive home. When I left I had about 14 Idle and 9 or 10 at 70mph on full tank Cold engine and fuel. NOT GOOD. I think that by the time I got home and everything was hot I had about 11 at idle. 20 miles from home gauge was very erratic 5psi at idle and around 10 anywhere else, strange? Going through town 5 miles from home 0 psi. I shut truck off started again. About 1 mile later 0 again. Limped home and tried a different gauge it was showing 2psi. Put new LP on this morning 14-15 idle and 9ish WFO cruising at 12-13psi. Yay, Yippee! Hopefully no resultant damage will show up.
