Power steering gear box.

Is that what its called?

Mine has alot of slack in it. So I adjusted most of it out, and it eventually came back (15,000 miles or so).

I went to adjust it some more, and theres no more adjustment left. The rest of the front end is tight.

Wheres the best place to get a good deal on one? Should I look for a good used one? (only keeping this truck a few more months).

What did you adjust ? the over center adjustment or the bearing pre-load?? just doing the overcenter adjustment will not take all the slack out of the box. search this site there is a good how to complete with pictures on how to properly adjust the box (not saying you didn't....but I've never seen a box that ran outta adjustment)

Also make sure the box is tight to the frame.
A buddy came by the other day telling me his 2001 2500 4X4 gasser was wandering all over the road and tons of play in the steering.
I climbed under the truck with him turning the wheel.
Found the box moving 1/4 inch side to side.
Tightened the bolts up and all is good now.
Good luck
