The steering gear box should be the same, but im not sure about the steering shaft another option is a aftermarket gear box. I put a PSC on my truck and i love it. It has a 3 1/4 ratio rather than the factory 4 1/4 the resault is tighter steering i would also recomend a borgson steering shaft summit racing carries them. good luck Dan

They will interchange, but the 4wd sector shaft is only indexed for 1 spot for the pitman arm.
I have put 2wd sector shafts into a 4wd box to enable the use of crossover steering on Chevys.

You have to cut back the torsion rod on the input shaft to clear the coupler and then it fits fine.

Sorry your wrong on that one, I just did the cross over steering on mine and the 4wd dodge box sector shafts has key ways at 12, 3, 6, and 9 o'clock. You can place the pitman arm at the same positions if you were so inclined.

But to answer the orginal question they are the same.

It's interesting how Chrysler used virtually the same parts over a wide assortment of models with very minor variations in things like keyways to make the parts unique or non-interchangeable for the average Joe. I suppose that enabled them to charge higher prices for the same parts going into higher priced models.

I just rebuilt a C-bod steering box for my Duster that is virtually identical to the one it replaced, except the input shaft is keyed by one spline so as to accept the C-bod coupler and no other. 10 seconds with a dremel tool on the coupler took care of that. Kinda disappointed it took me a half hour of bangin' and pushing and twisting to finally figure it out, though.

The PSC reman box is comparable in price (only) to a parts store reman, the latter lasting an average (in my experience) of 2 years before wearing out enough to be a road hazard. I had a PSC on my 91, and miss it dearly. Saving my nickels and dimes for one to go on the 92. THis one will come with me when the truck goes.

For the price of the PSC kit, I will probably just get a reman. I only plan on driving the truckabout 10k a year max, so hopefully it will last a long time!

Autozone lists the part as 150ish, with a 150ish core charge.

Well from what I read about remans not lasting more than a year, the cost of one versus new, and you don't know which steering ratio your getting.
The choice was easy.

If you dont drive the truck very often, you can send in your old box. I think mine was $190 to rebuild it with shipping both ways; out about 10 days. They will make it the tighter ratio, too. O'Reilley's, NAPA, et al, wanted about $180 exchange.
