Check for codes whit your ignition key cycle. on off on off then leave on but dont start. if any they come up in the trip screen. When did u last change your fuel filter. Could be really bad. Do you have gauges. they help alot with this stuff. You can have a bad lift pump. need to get fuel pressure checked. Worse case is you vp44 is kickin out. Check all of those things.first

white smoke on start up signals a failing injection pump. cycle the key on/off and read the codes in the odometer

they prob reset the apps... when i took my truck into the dealership and was standing outside the bay the very first thing they did was unhook the batteries and turn the key to the on position... then he dissapeared so i went and sat down... later on i see him driving it out the dealership so i asked him when he got back what he did all that for and he said its what we normally do... it seems to fix the problem or something liek that..... then he said i was ready to go.. i was like omg you just reset my apps and thats all...and charge me a diagnostics fee....

From what I've found on this list. P0500 is the vehicle speed sensor.

FWIW, just replaced my VSS (on tranny). $31 at dealer, 1" wrench,
about a cup or two of tranny fluid. (knew to have other sensor at
the ready, and not to be laying directly underneath it) Spent more
time on cleanup than changing it.
