Park Brake/ABS Warning

A while back the warning light for the parking brake and ABS braking system on my '02 2500 began staying on, even with the brake off. Brakes seem to be working OK, the parking brake is definitely off, all seems well, but the 2 warning lights stay on all the time.

I don't see anything in a seach of the archives, so can anyone give me some ideas ?? Thanks

Lar.

i have been reading up on this too.i still haven't fixed mine because it's too cold out here.
people have found wire's that are frayed and grouding out in most cases.one said they found the rear speed sensor wire's were grounded on the e-brake cable.another said there was some worn through wire's under the passenger side battery that come from the passenger side wheel speed sensor.some have said it was just debris on the speed sensor's up front and bad sensor in the back on the diff.

Sensor on the diff.........?? Where is it ?? A couple of months ago, the diff vent came loose and the hose was dangling. Put a new end on it and stuck it back up on the frame, but might have yanked on the wrong wire while up there.

usually the lights would signify either a problem with the abs or low brake fluid or a hydraulic preassure leak.

I had the exact same happen, replaced the sensor on top of the rear diff. It was like 35$ at NAPA, fixed the problem. I think it was the speed sensor.

see if theres any codes.

mine was a combination of things...the sensory in the pumpkin in the rear end was bad (which threw a code)

also my abs wheel sensor wire in the front had been cut

Like already mentioned check your fluid level, usually a constant ABS light is an indicator of low brake fluid. Could be caused be a leak, or a lot of times people will boil their fluid without even knowing it, causing some to be pushed out of the cap.
