p0463 code and 1693 (of course) - won't start

I know the 1693 is a companion code, which has no worth. But I also have the p0463 which means fuel level voltage high. I have no other codes but my truck will not start. Does anyone know what's up?

Do you have fuel in the tank.

That code is associated with the poorly designed Fuel Level senders in Dodge trucks, and you could be showing you have fuel, when in reality, you are bone dry.

I'm pretty certain I do. My lift pump shows 18psi when it's powered.

Out of the '01 Manual,
P0463 Fuel Level Sending Unit Volts Too High.
Fuel level sensor input above acceptable voltage.

P0463 (CEL) Fuel Level Sending Unit Volts Too High.
Circuit shorted to voltage between PCM and fuel gauge
sending unit.

I'd try adding 5 gal. of fuel and treat it like it's run out of fuel...bleed air off the filter, bump the starter 5 times. You may even have to crack some injector lines.

I'll try the 5 gallons of fuel, and cracking lines. I'll update this thread. But if anyone wants to keep thinking of other reasons, I'm all ears.

cracked the lines and bled, fired right up. Air in the lines, seeping in some-how. I've had this problem before but the FP wouldn't make it to 18psi without starting the truck. Right now it kicks to 18/19psi immediately, which confused me. So now I'll have to figure out which hardlines are leaking air and replace them...for the 3rd time. Maybe I'll do it right someday?

It kinda looks like we're all gonna have a season of air leaks eventually. Other air leak posts involve the 12 valvers and now sneaking into the 24 valve years. I guess anytime the fuel tank is removed, the module and lines should be checked or even a new steel line made up from inside the module to the lift pump. It's making a bulkhead fitting more attractive too.
