overserviced tranny !!!!!!!!!!

i have been noticing my tranny acting up lately, if you go to the HELP forum, you can see the symptoms.. but i pulled the dipstick the other day and noticed it was above the max line, what could this cause. it is about a 1/4 inch above the line. and how much do you think that is in fluid form. meaning how much should i drain out

Steve;

You may already be aware.....your transimission fluid level should be checked with your engine running, and in neutral. If your in park,......you will get a much higher reading. If your fluid level is 1/4 inch above the line, with the trans in park,.....you are likely low on fluid.

Warm it up,......and check it on level ground, with you transmission in neutral, this will give you the most accurate reading.

I have overfilled mine before, and never gave it a second thought. Don't worry about overfull, if it's just a little. But make sure you measure it as SilverRam suggested.

A little extra fuid won't hurt you. Just leave it in there. As long as the oil isn't foaming up, you'll be fine.

*** I also posted in your other thread.
