Oil pressure sensor replacement

My in dash oil pressure gauge was reading way high and my Edge Attitude showed 100 psi, sometimes even before the truck was running, so I figured the oil pressure sensor was bad. The truck reported a low voltage (0523 and a 1693, I think), though no MIL illuminated. Got the replacement part from Cummins, it's 4921511 for my engine. Cost about $120, which seems high, but much cheaper than Dodge. The new sensor takes a 1 1/16 inch deep socket to install, but the old sensor is a 1 1/4 inch deep socket. The only real problem for me was to unsnap the plug from the old sensor. I could see it from the wheel well or touch it from above, but not both at the same time.
I found it very helpfull to strip about 3 inches of insulation from a 12 gauge wire, form a small loop of bare wire, place this over the latch holding the old plug, tug on the wire and presto, the plug snaps right off. Oil pressure now back to normal.
