oil leak???

Ok i have replaced front seal, front timing case covergasket, rebuilt the vaccum pump from the fixinrams guy. i dont know where it comes from now the oil looks like it runs down the block up by where the vaccum pump connects to the back of the block, then runs down the oil pan and the block and leaks off of the bottom of the pan and the bellhousing. i dont think its the oil pan gasket because when i clean it all off it seems to start up front by the vaccum pump or maybe even the front cover or seal. any suggestions? thanks in advance!

i had a leak that was almost that exact same discription.....

does it look like it starts arond the middle of the oil pan..running back or the front of the oil pan running back...

if it is in the middle check the turbo oil return tube...mine somehow backed itself out of the block and the leak was there....it will run down the small portion of the block that remains between it and the pan..then ran down the pan hitting each bolt on its way back ending at the back of the pan.

check the hose clamps on the rubber portion of the return drain line and then the metal portion of the drain line where it connects back into the block....it is a "snap into block" connection i used a flat head screw driver to catch the lip of the return tube and pushed it down...you will feel it and hear it "snap" into place...

hope this helps...

How much of a hassle was it to do the timing cover gasket and vaccum pump?

Where my leak was

I had a similar oil leak to your's.
Mine was leaking motor oil from the base of my fuel injector lines on my VP44 pump and dripping straight down onto my vacuum pump then down the side of the block and also the wire harness working it's way to the rear of the oil pan. Also would collect on the driver's side motor mount.

It took me a couple of months of wiping it dry and looking for the path then finally wrapping a rag around the injector lines on the back of the IP which soaked the oil up before it dripped.
Ended up replacing my VP44.
You may have the same leak.
Hope this helps
