Oil Filters
Oil Filters
I've read where Fleetgaurd is what almost everyone on the board uses. In my other vehicles I've always used Wix filters with very good results. Warranty is long gone so that's not an issue.
Wix filters for our truck can be had at www.fleetfilter.com for cheap. Are the Fleetguards that much better than Wix. I'll gladly pay the premium if the Fleetguard is a superior product. Does anyone here have experience with the Wix filters??
Thanks
Brad

I run the Wix filters on mine and have never had a problem. I order them from Fleetfilter.com for $3.78 each. The cheapest I have found a fleetgaurd filter is around $11. I haven't read anything to convince me that the fleetgaurd filter is that much better. Until I do, I will be a faithful Wix customer. Fleetfilter.com also has the "BHAF" (Wix 42790) for $28. NAPA auto parts wants $54 for the same filter. That website definitely has the best prices I have found
I have used WIX for a buncha years. My setup (on last three vehicles) is WIX full flow filter and a supplemental bypass filter (no advert here). I had almost 200k on my wifes van before we sold it and never burned a quart so the filters must have been doing something right.
