Oil filter question, which part # is OK
I got a case of Fleetgard LF16035's in a parts trade. I believe that part number is intended to be used on the late models. Question is can this filter be used on my 2001? The physical dimensions seem to be the same. What is different between this filter and the one specified for my model year? Volume, pressure, medium, etc?

The filter number looks like the same one for the '03 and up Cummins.
The only difference I'm aware of is the fluted base on that one so one can use a cap-style filter socket to remove it.
