This is the piece that the shifter stub comes up through. It is made of a thin rubber covering, and I somehow punched a hole in mine, I guess when I was replacing the clutch.

I am afraid of moisture and dirt getting into my expensive 5600. Does anyone know where I can purchase just the rubber cover? I have found one place, Allstate Gear, that sells the shift tower which comes with the cover, but as far as I know the shift tower on mine is okay and I just need the rubber piece.

that little rubber boot should be about $15 at the dealer. I had to get one for my G56. It was torn and letting the oil leak out when I drove it.

 

Thanks! I didn't even consider that the dealer would have this part since normally everyone calls them the "*******", lol, but $15 sure sounds a lot better than the $70 it would cost me to purchase the entire shift tower.

I will head over to my local dealer and pick this up.

I put an inner tube patch kit on mine, works great.

 

I was unable to source this part for my nv5600 the dealer wanted to sell me the whole tower, too. I smeared RTV on it and called it done. Mine was just cracked a little.
