NV 4500 Shift Tower ?

NV 4500 Shift Tower ?
I know that the 94-97 NV4500's use the round shift tower and the 98+ use a square shift tower that bolts on with 4 bolts. Is either one better than the other. The tranny I'm getting rebuilt has either option for the shift tower. Any info or help would be great. Thanks
