not sure why my 02 is doin this???

lately my truck has been acting weird. sometimes ill put the key in the ignition and turn it on and the wait to start light will turn on then off and itll start right up fine no problems. But sometimes itll do something kinda poopy. ill put the key in the ignition hav plenty of juice from the battery and ill hear the lift pump engage and ill turn the ignition and the dang thing is hard to start, its like it wont want to turn over its very very slow when this happens. sometimes its worse than others. Sometimes if i give it a little fuel from the pedal it wont be as bad. But does anybody know whats goin on with my truck?

If its turning over slowly, clean and tighten battery connections, then have the batterys load tested, and or have the starter looked at, starter contacts are the weak link and they are cheap and easy to replace, do a search as there are posts of how to on this subject.

Check for codes with key.... on-off-on-off-on. Read codes in odometer.
Sounds like either dying batteries or VP-44 is starting to go. Just a couple of guesses.

Def sounds like the strter to me. The same thing hapened to my boat last week. The brushes go bad. It can happen to any starter. It confused the crap out of me cause if I put one of those jump box things on the battery it would start but when I had both batteries tested they were perfect. Actually even better than what they said was normally good. I had the starter rebuilt and it fixed it. It causes the starter to internally short and draw a rediciously larger load than normal. Causing it to seem like the batteries are dead. It could be the batteries in ur case but what makes me think its not is cause its intermittent. Thats how mine was. I left the chargers on the batteries all night. Tested the alternator. Put the boat on the trailer and it cranked fine. Cranked two more times moving form one spot to another. Then all the sudden it did it again. Stranding me.
