Not normal dead pedal but limited to 2000 rpm then dead pedal.

2001 3500 6 speed stock. Found a mystery solution but at a loss as to why it works. Intermittent dead pedal near 2000 rpm but the cut out point varies by a few hundred rpm. Like 2100 in 3rd n 4th gear 1900 in 5th, and 1600 in 6th gear. Hooked up fuel press gauge top of filter and taped it to the wiper blade. No pressure change when it acts up. Stock lift pump. 8 to 12 psi. Changed filter and tps no help. So.... when I unplug the ABS wire harness the speedo stays at zero as I drive ...ok... understandable, but the rpm now is not limited. Issue goes away. Why? Plug back in and issue is back. The rpm issue is not speed dependent it will act up in any gear near the 2000 rpm. This is the larger of the two plugs, further away from the firewall. Other info. Issue goes away for weeks at a time.
