No Fuel Return? - 24v Yanmar
No Fuel Return? - 24v Yanmar
I have a 24v Yanmar, they're almost identical to the CTD except there is a belt on the front instead of all gears. The issue is there is no fuel coming from the return line. This motor has 1hr on it and basically brand new (the other one returns fuel w/no problem). The pump, injectors and everything have been check prior to reassembly. Plenty of inlet LP psi but no return of fuel. Fuel path is:
LP-filter-IP-injectors-fuel return line-2way banjo on the back of the LP-fuel cooler-return to tank
Flow to the IP pump is good and I've blow air thru the cooler at the end of the fuel return line but no flow to the cooler. Where could all the fuel be going as I haven't seen an increase in the oil? I'm thinking the banjo bolt may be stuck and/or restricting things but any ideas would be appreciated.

tubo-actually the motor is made by Toyota but almost identical on the front end except belt driven. Because it's for marine some of the components are a little different and relocated on the motor so its compact.
junkman-yes the metal return lines comes directly out of the head towads the front, not the back and goes to the back of the IP thru a banjo bolt and T there. I'm going to try to take it apart Sunday as the T is the only place I can think of being the problem. The twin yanmars (6cyl/325hp) are going back into a sportfishing boat.

Yanmars were used on some sailing boats. I have one of the smaller boats from the 70s. Unfortunately, mine came with a gasser. Perhaps it is better because I only use the motor to get out of the harbor on a land locked lake.
