Welcome to the site. Lift pump should be on the right side of the block looking from the front. Kind of tucked in behind the filter.

I wouldn't worry about exhaust right away, probably gauges first (at least fuel pressure) and look for performance box. Lot's out there, many different price ranges....just search on this site and you'll have enough to read for days.

First and MOST important is a fuel pressure gage. The VP44 is the weak link on these trucks. If you are going to get a performance box (chip) some will have full gage set ups with them. Then look at EGT's and boost.

Normally you want 10-20 PSI on FP. Boost, stock, is about 19 max., maybe 30 with mods. Exhaust runs 200-1100 under normal conditions. Geno's Garage is a good source for gauges, as weell as Oil & fuel filter. Also check with the other vendors on this site. Do a "search" on gauges, lots of reading.
Post your truck info under your proifile.

Yes, the fuel pressure is the first gauge you should get, then pyro. If I could make a suggestion is chuck the oem lift pump (mine is still there, just disconnected) and get a fass or raptor lift pump.

Welcome to the site!!!
