Hey guys next spring I am going to attempt a full cab swap on my 96 dodge. My cab mounts are rotted and there is a lot of rust on the lower rockers. So I want to swap to a 98.5 on cab with 4 doors. My question is has anyone done this and where is a good place to look for a new/ used cab I’ve checked out some junkyards and there is some potential there. But do any of you have or know someone with a cab for sale???

 

I've been looking around my self, same kinda rot sounds like. Plowing did wonders over the years.

I haven't been able to find anything real decent close by for short money. I'm thinking of somehow fabbing in new stuff, doesn't have to be factory looking by my standards. Let me know if you find a place with extras though, I don't have too much left under the front of the driver's door.

 

In the exact same boat here. Cabs are available, but not easy to find. Going the quad cab route as well, since after all that trouble, might as well have 4-ish doors. Good luck in your search.

 

Could be a good time for a frame resto also. Should be able to pick up a good body for cheep if don't care about other features.

 

hey gorms i see your in ma. if you go out to holland used auto in bilerica i have found some decent ones its just i have to get some time to go out strip it and then get it off that truck on to a trailer and home so that will be the interesting part

ya I plan on doing a frame resto I have a good size sand blaster and I have a dealership with scorpion bed liners so I plan on bed lining the frame should last forever and also quiet the frame down
