need some help

My buddy has a 1998.5 2500 auto. He is getting the codes p0237 (which is map sensor voltage too low) and p0523 (oil pressure voltage too high). i have a 1st gen but im not real smart on the 24v codes. Can anyone help me out with some solutions to these codes? are they common? are they anything to be concerned about? thanks. oh and the codes went away when he changed the smarty level from 5 to 3. But idk if this is just a coincidence.

I don't know how it is with the smarty, but with my hypertech. If I have any trouble codes in the computer I have to clear them before I can reprogram my truck

I would check all the connections and grounds for corrosion
first, Electronics do some strange things when there power is
disrupted or have bad connections
