Need seal info Rear Main/ NV5600 rear
Hey guys getting ready to install my SB DD hopefully this weekend
. I wanted to go ahead and replace the rear main while I'm in there and am looking for any last minute advice. Also where should I buy it?? Heard Dodge is really high, go figure...
My NV5600 rear seal has been seeping for a while now, very little but while I have it out I might as well replace it as well... Do I need the special tool to remove and install this one? Any tips for this as well? Where to order the seal kit?
Thanks
Brian
PS if you have part numbers for what I need post em up!!

You can call South Plains Cummins....just North of Ft. Worth.
NAPA prob could get you a seal that wasnt too bad. On both accounts.
UM.....a seal installer would be good to have because its large. BUT not needed. A block of wood can be made to work to get it started.
If you wanted...i could put a call into Petit in Gainesville and see if they would let you use their JD Rear Main Instal Kit.....i would bet you could get one of thoes to work. Other than that...its not lanching a rocket......

I picked up a jobber seal for $50 for the rear main. Dodge wanted $140, Cummins wanted $70. Comes with an installation ring to hammer it in, and the seal pilot. Remember to keep the crank clean and dry, and pull the pilot out AFTER you have the seal in place on the crank. I didn't, and there is a nice drip under my truck all the time.
