Went and did the 3 key trick today because my truck has been acting a little sluggish so i figured I would see if the computer was trying to tell me anything...

Came up with P1682 and P1693. I know 1693 is the companion code and im sure it has something to do with me messing with the MAP censor the other day, but i searched for 1682 on here and it came up with a few threads, but nothing really saying what to do about it...anyone have any ideas?

P1682 Charging System Voltage Too Low

I would be checking your voltage output at the Alternator....

Could be dead or dying batteries, a dying alternator or possibly the integeral voltage regulator in the PCM.

Also, don't forget check the obvious: Clean all the battery and alternator connections and check them for proper continuity.....ya just never know!

 

Thanks CTD, my batteries are pretty corroded and I have had some problems with the alternator recently...so I will start with that and go from there!

 

i had the 1682 code. replaced the batteries and that took care of the problem. just clean the connectors really well. my dealer didnt and i still had probs. until i wire brushed them and sprayed anti- corrosive spray on them.
