I would make darn sure who ever you buy from is not just testing the electronics in the pump but installing NEW ones
I argee 1000%. It was just the electronics that failed in my VP44. Started out it was cranking a bit when hot, but worked fine cold. Progressed till one day I ended up in a parking lot on the back of a FORD flatbed. VERY VERY bad...

Blue Chip has competitive pricing on pumps, but you still get what you pay for...

I seem to get convinced that people who pay premium for a premium product tend to help advertise it even if totally adequate cheaper product is available.
Any authorized Bosch rebuilder - Pensacola being one of the good ones, I run theirs in my truck for the past 6 years - have the new electronics in their rebuilds. And they cost under $1k.
People who insist they only buy the very best for their truck should get Blue Chip. Those who need their truck to work and have use for another $1k, can buy a Pensacola or Western pump and have enough left for a nice Smith and Wesson.
