My steel brake lines are shot... help!

Lost my brakes the other day while going down a hill. The rear line split before the rear axle. I checked all of the remaining lines and it looks like they are ready to go also... What's the Problem*?!?!

Any tips on where to find these lines w/o getting raped?

My truck is a 1997 Ram 2500 CTD with 115,000 miles on it.

TIA!

I just tried Inline Tube... nothing.

Can anyone offer any advice or should I try making my own lines?

Make your own, guy a GOOD tubing bender and double flaring tolls before you start!! You could buy they from Dodge, but I hate to guess how much they want!

Steel brake lines are one of the great deals in the auto aftermarket. Just measure from junction point to junction point and buy the length you need. Check the dia. of your line as there are several with 3/16 and 1/4 being most common. A 60 in length with fittings on both ends is under 4.00 cdn. Then you just bend to fit. Carefully, not sharp or quick, or it will get expensive with all the lengths you have to buy . If you have to shorten one, remember that all ends are Double-flared, not single. Tubing benders (highly recommended) are also available at your local parts emporium for a reasonable price as are junction nuts if you have to join 2 pieces together to get the right length. Good luck, its really not a tough job, just takes a little patience. Rick
