Nate I will say this, I just planted a new CUMMINS RECON in my truck for 8600 bucks. The cost of the motor was 5990 & the rest was labor, & shop supplies. These ISB engines are not the best to rebuild. REMEMBER this, the word REBUILD can take on several different meanings depending on exactly what you need fixed.
Are you now having problems that concern you, if so what are they? You will notice that I put the RV275 engine back in my truck. It only cost a 200 more bucks than the dodge cummins. After I figured up labor, machine shop, parts, etc, it was cheaper to do the recon, which comes with a 2 year unlimited mileage warranty. You can't get but up to a year on a rebuild & it may not cover everything.

HID I haven't had a chance to dyno it yet. I honestly don't know if I can tell a difference or not. I hope to put a different set of injectors in it this weekend & see what happens. I will know the difference when I can dyno it, because I had dynoed my old one. I know it is a better engine than what the dodge cummins is, because of the higher specs it is built to. I have not had any problems with it at all. It was a good install by the CUMMINS guys. NATE if you have to get another engine, go to CUMMINS & GET IT. They will stand behind there products much better than the usual rebuild shops that will blame you for their failures & short cuts.

DIESELDUDE, what did you have done? I paid 5995.00 for the crated CUMMINS RECON RV275 & around 1600. in labor & misc. shop stuff. I had 8600 bucks in mine
with a 2 year unlimited mileage warranty. I know you can't get that kind of warranty from CHRYSLER or any other diesel shops. So please explain what you had done. My CUMMINS serv. mgr told me it would cost me more for them to rebuild than to drop in the RECON, & he could only offer 6 months warranty on labor & 1 year on parts. Is that the route you took? Hey HID if you want to turn some heads, you should here these straight duals of mine. I have 3 inch straights Y-ed right below the turbo turn down pipe. I have been gonna go to 4 inch duals but don't see any real advantage to doing it. I am going to wait until I buy a new turbo first, than I may put the 4 inch duals on. I haven't checked my mileage any because I keep my COMP on 5x5. I guess I like to see fuel mileage in the form of 2 blacks whirlwinds coming out of my tailpipes. LOL
